With the rapid development of information technology inthe work today, international news has caught the great attention of the press mediaworldwide, turning itself an arena petition. People’s Daily Online, awarded by thedomestic press as the “most influential news website” and “China’s most serious and crediblenews site and most visited site”,with its unique management(来源：淘豆网[]) philosophy, has essfully gotits brand renowned in the global news coverage field, through the last 17 years of accuratemarket positioning.With great variety of news genre and multiple ways of reporting, like pictures, featurestories, mentaries and news letters, People’s Daily Online is known for itsuniqueness in the international news coverage. Its reporting turfs have also been quitediversified, covering not only its traditional fields like diplo(来源：淘豆网[])macy and domestic politics, butthe social life, economy, culture and military issues as well. Taking the traditional Chineseway of speaking and thinking into full consideration, the readability and proximity in People’sDaily Online’s international reporting and major news reporting is strong. The internationalchannel of People’s Daily Online also highly valuates the immediacy of its break news report.The international report of People’s Daily Onlin(来源：淘豆网[])e falls into three major parts, the internationalcurrent affairs, the international economic issues and the international social news. Followingthe firm orientation and with special care to the details, its depth-report and topic-selecting arealso innovative. The reporting of People’s Daily Online promotes the idea of democracy.However, there are more to do for People’s Daily Online as well. To startwith, the author of this paper holds that People’s Daily Online should try adding more originalnews and exclusive reporting, and more attention needs to be put on the people, to make thereporting more human while covering the international events.
