赛艇队的元老史博翰说，来中国之前，乡们他并没有想到自己会在异国他乡深深地爱上赛艇运动，爱上“浑河的沈阳赛艇条件非常好。浑河的浑河水面很宽，而且水流非常缓慢，真美很适合赛艇运动。我们这些外籍员工常年离开家乡，大家非常希望通过一项运动来缓解工作、生活压力和思乡之情，而赛艇运动恰恰帮了我们的忙。”
Stefan, the old head of the rowing team, said that before coming to China, he did not expect that he would fall in love with rowing in a foreign country.
"The condition of the Hunhe River is very good. There is wide water and slow current. It is very suitable for rowing. We expats are away from our hometown all the year round, and really hope to relieve the pressure of work, life and homesickness via a sport. Rowing just helps us."
史博翰的中国同事燕涵予是沈阳人，她和丈夫丹尼尔都是赛艇队的队员。燕涵予说：“能经常划行在‘母亲河’上，作为沈阳人，我非常骄傲。我的很多同事通过赛艇运动，认识了浑河，感受到了这条大河的美丽。”
Stefan's Chinese colleague Yan Hanyu is a native of Shenyang.
She and her husband Daniel are both members of the rowing team.
Yan Hanyu said: "As a native of Shenyang, I am very proud to be able to row on the 'Mother River' often. Many of my colleagues got to know the Hunhe River and discovered the beauty of this great river through rowing."
