This device, dubbed the "Dryland Ski Magic Carpet" by Winter Olympic athletes, is developed by the research team of the Department of Mechanics of Northeastern University. The sliding feeling and landing stress are more than 90% similar to real snow!
The robot accurately captures the snow field environment data and the virtual reality VR system simulates the competition field environment in real time. The system was developed by the team led by Professor Wang Hong from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Northeastern University.
